Starting in 2017 Morley farms has become a BBRO (British Beet Research Organisation) demonstration farm. The Farm will host 1 of 2 open day sites but also the area is available for growers to visit through out the growing season to see the crop at various stages. The largest area of the site is large blocks of 25 varieties in strips 6 rows wide and 250 m long. This will be of interest to look at but also allows other treatment to be implemented across the field. On another field is further BBRO field trial as part of there own research program.
We are please to welcome BBRO and sugar beet research to the farm.
The Morley Agricultural Foundation’s predecessors were fundamental in sugar beet research when the crop was first grown in Norfolk on the 1910’s.
The BBRO Summer Open Day at Morley is on 6th July 2017 **NOTE DATE CHANGE**– for more information BBRO Demo farms.
