Static Exhibits
The Morley Agricultural Foundation
Trustees will be on hand to discuss TMAF’s work including recently funded projects, the new portfolio of PhD students and the Morley Clean Water Project. Based at Morley Farms the project aims to ensure that water leaves the farm as clean as when it arrives; reducing silt, nutrient and pesticide run-off into watercourses using simple measures, at a modest cost, with our own resources.
Agrovista
A long-standing partner of Morley Farms, technical staff will be outlining a 2022 trial on application technology with sugar beet herbicides. Over the years Agrovista has conducted a number of trials on the farm including cover and companion crops and strip tillage. The Open Day is an opportunity to find out more on these past projects.
BBRO
On hand to talk about topical issues affecting the 2022 sugar beet season, BBRO staff have the latest information on controlling aphids and virus in the crop, alongside nitrogen use on sugar beet and how to reduce the use of ammonium nitrate without reducing production whilst at the same time minimising carbon emissions.
Openfield
The Openfield team will be available to discuss in detail the latest on global volatile grain markets. TMAF is grateful to Openfield for its sponsorship contribution to the day.
This event is made possible by the unique relationship between The Morley Agricultural Foundation and NIAB delivering farmer-facing long-term agronomy research.
