We are holding our annual TMAF Winter Event and AGM, at the Morley Business Centre on Wednesday 5th February 2020. As with our 2019 Winter meeting, we have again selected a fine line-up of topics and speakers to provoke thought, stimulate discussion and inform decision-making on farms in our region.
Measuring to develop measures
TMAF-supported PhD student Joe Martlew explains the work he is doing to diagnose and treat subsoil compaction in his research ‘Quantifying and alleviating deep-seated compaction in arable soils’.
Underground insights
Now half-way through his PhD, David Purdy shares insights so far from his investigations into effects on soil health, compaction, grass weeds and yield from using the plant rooting systems of cover crops versus low disturbance tillage methods in a spring cereal production system.
Hurry up to stand still
Water quality is a top priority for TMAF’s farm at Morley in 2020. TMAF Farm Manager David Jones will reveal the activities and measures underway in the Morley Clean Water Project to enhance water quality going into the River Yare catchment – and how they can be carried out for modest cost and effort.
We will be pleased for farmers, farm managers, advisors, researchers and other agri-professionals to join us for a light lunch at 1.15pm ready for a 2.00 pm start. After a few minutes of business matters we will be ready to be informed and inspired by three presentations.
Do download this invitation and share with others who could be interested to attend. For catering purposes, we remind anyone wishing to attend to please RSVP by 30th January 2020 to Michaela Canham.
